Bottom line: Node X invites you to get up and close to your favorite songs in ways other devices in its price bracket simply cannot accomplish. And Node X grows with your system. If you choose to get a higher-end DAC in the future, or already have one, you can hook it up to one of the multiple inputs on Node X and use it as a dedicated streamer. Compatible with powered speakers, amplifiers, and receivers, Node X puts you in control of how you want to use and connect it. WiFi, Ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, aptX HD Bluetooth, 3.5mm aux-in, HDMI eARC, and USB-A connectors let you input audio from streaming services, TVs, gaming consoles, and/or a personal music library. You can send music to your main system via RCA, optical, coaxial, USB outputs — and even to wireless headphones via Bluetooth in aptX HD quality. Speaking of headphones: Node X goes over the top with a genuinely high-end headphone amplifier with THX Achromatic Audio Amplifier (THX AAA) technology. Coupled with the full-sized .0.25-inch headphone jack, the latter’s patented feed-forward error correction means you’ll enjoy fatigue-free listening sessions marked by intense realism and detail. 

Standing out amid the silver casing, the top of Node X shines with an all-glass, capacitive-touch LED control panel that doubles as an intuitive touchpoint for basic commands such as play, pause, skipping, and volume. One-touch presets are also available there, or you can just use the supplied Bluesound RC1 remote. Advanced options — including tone controls, subwoofer crossover, and listening modes — are accessible via the BluOS Controller app. For the ultimate in control, Node X can be integrated into a smart home.
