Colored Vinyl 4LP Box Set featuring Over 3 1/2 Hours of Music Culled from All of ELP’s Original Albums; Mastered Digitally from HD Sources at Half-Speed for Superior Audio Quality
Emerson, Lake & Palmer were one of the most successful, innovative and groundbreaking British groups of the golden age of progressive rock. As well as creating spectacular ‘live’ shows that incorporated advanced technology and showmanship, they also recorded a cascade of powerful albums that sold in the millions around the world. ELP was formed in 1970 by flamboyant keyboard player Keith Emerson (The Nice), singer/guitarist Greg Lake (King Crimson) and drummer/percussionist Carl Palmer (Atomic Rooster). Blending jazz and classical music with a wide-screen hard-rock style, ELP were one of the torchbearers of the progressive rock sound and were one of the most commercially successful bands of the 1970s. By ’74 they were as big a live draw as Led Zeppelin.
This new vinyl 4LP Anthology showcases the immense musical talents of all three members, and contains a wealth of career-spanning ELP audio treasures from such original albums as Emerson, Lake & Palmer (1970), Tarkus (1971), Pictures At An Exhibition (Live) (1971), Trilogy (1972), Brain Salad Surgery (1973), Welcome Back, My Friends (Live) (1974), Works 1 (1977), Works 2 (1977), Love Beach (1978), Black Moon (1992) and In The Hot Seat (1994). Boasting over three and a half hours of music produced in association with Carl Palmer and ELP management, all tracks were mastered digitally from HD sources at half-speed for superior audio quality. The colored 4LP set also features and insert with sleeve notes by Chris Welch and band photos.
