Les Agamemnonz – Amateurs (45rpm Colored Vinyl LP)

From Rouen, France, Les Agamemnonz’s unmistakable, boundary-defying instrumentals combine the dripping reverb and dance beat of early 60’s surf music with the cinematic orchestral textures of vintage Spaghetti Western and modern Quentin Tarantino film scores. On Amateurs single “No Shoes No Service,” lead guitarist Benjamin Bonaventure dials back the reverb to deliver a stripped down instant-classic melody over top of pulsating piano and drummer André Pasquet’s understated dance groove – a combination that could easily pass for a lost Link Wray B-side.
