Mark Levinson Celebrates 50 Years of Audio Excellence in Style: American-Made ML-50 Monoblock Amplifiers Output 425W RMS and Play with Purity, Power, and Precision
Fiftieth anniversaries are usually celebrated with gold. Mark Levinson is commemorating 50 years of luxury audio manufacturing by going several levels beyond with a pair of ML-50 monoblock amplifiers whose performance, construction, technology, and appearance exemplify why the American manufacturer remains one of the most recognized and respected brands in the worldwide high-end community. Limited to just 100 total packages globally, the sequentially numbered and badged ML-50 wraps power, purity, and precision into heirloom components that will reward every listening experience.
Engineered to reproduce the softest highs, deepest lows, and loudest peaks with the same consistency and prowess, ML-50 outputs 425W RMS at eight ohms (850W RMS at four ohms). Each 115-pound unit leverages the benefits of a huge, shielded, and encapsulated toroidal transformer to minimize noise and distortion — and convey signals in their most natural form. Another Mark Levinson hallmark — Pure Path circuit design — stands out in ML-50. Literally and figuratively. Seen from the top through its clear glass cover, ML-50 glows with pleasing red illumination that showcases that very pathway and puts on full display the optimized electrical layout.
The clean rear panel of each ML-50 has one fully balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input for compatibility with virtually any preamplifier. Two pairs of the company’s “Hurricane” binding posts, two 3.5mm mono mini-plug trigger connectors, an Ethernet port, RS-232 connector, and USB-A port speak to its controllability. Minuscule total harmonic distortion ratios, 26dB voltage gain, and a more than 85dB signal-to-noise ratio underline its reference-grade measured specs. Dazzling casework and vibration-damping, mechanically isolated support feet reinforce the pride in which ML-50 was built — and how well-equipped it is to do its job.
Music Direct is proud to be one of the select retailers to carry this pair of extremely special components. If you would like to learn more about the U.S.-made ML-50, please call an audio consultant today.
